Concept 32 Question 2.

In the movie Law Abiding Citizen, the central conflict was for the protagonist(T.I.) to end the mysterious murders by Gerard Butler, who is one shocking serial killer. Through the main conflict, we can see what kind of man Butler is... pure insanity and evil. He shows these traits by killing his victims brutally and yet kills people even locked in prison. Plus, when T.I. tries to find out the truth through talking to Butler himself, he takes every chances no matter what because he no longer had anything to lose.

Concept 31 Questions.

1.) The three most recent movies I've seen are Gnomeo & Juliet, The Lion King, and Jurassic Park.

-The inciting incidents:

Gnomeo and Juliet: When the pink flamingo told Gnomeo and Juliet about his sad love story after they had a fight about their sides of the families(Blues and Reds). They then chose to stand up to the rivalry and flee together for love. This took place around the middle of the film.

The Lion King: When Mufasa died(Probably the saddest movie scene I've ever seen!) and Simba was convinced by his uncle Scar that he should run away for being responsible for his death. This led to the conflict that Scar took over the animal kingdom and turned it into a wasteland. Later, when Simba discovered the whole truth, he stood up to the "king" and uncle for the crown(and because Scar was an evil jerk). This took place before the middle of the film.

Jurassic Park: ... I don't know.

2.) How the intervention of standing up to the jerks bullying the kid in the wheelchair would:

-Change my Life: Made me feel like a hero and become more brave to do things for right causes.

-Change the life of the wheelchair student: He would know that there is always a hero out there. Would probably get along better with the people that look "untrustworthy".

-Peers: To not watch and help instead.

-Bad bunch: To think about acting. They might wanna reconsider robbing the teacher.

3.) The inciting incident in my film is when Sarah, the main character's girlfriend, is murdered. After the day of the tragedy, he seemed to have lost his soul(not literally) and not care anymore. Tim, the main character, dies inside.

Concept 30 Questions.

1.) The "A" objectives:

-Kelly: Hang out with the "in" crowd during the summer.

-Mom: Make the cousin feel like he's home.

-Geeky cousin: Have a good summer!

The "B" objectives:

-Kelly: Make sure she satisfies mother about cousin.

-Mom: Make Kelly conform with him.

-Geeky cousin: Hang with Kelly and have fun.

2.) Happy endings make people feel good, right? Well, the downside is that it's kind of a cliche at times depending on how things go. So, this time I would make the outcome a no win/no win! Kelly gets discovered by her mother that she always evades her cousin when she takes him out and for the last time she did that her cousin got kidnapped, and... died. Kelly's life is over(not dead).

3.) In my film, the "A" objective is for John, the angel, accomplish his mission to save Tim, a human being, from giving up life. The "B" objective is for the angel to not only help Tim get back up, but also help his surroundings if they are in need.

2.) INT. - SCHOOL FRONT OFFICE- MORNING

Concept 27 Questions.

1.) Out of the four locations given for Thatcher asking his question to Linda, I believe the one that will work best is over lunch at her friend's favorite cafe because cafes are where friends (especially teens) hang out and talk about their stuff. Plus, it would work the best out of the rest because in a cafe it seems to put both good and calm mood. Unlike the rest, they give less of a great mood, especially the cemetery. The scene, in my head, plays out Linda thinking about it before giving her answer. Then, after a short moment of thought, she gives a yes, but not with full meaning. This shows that she ins't sure that she has done the same thing, but felt pressured into it.

2.) I am sitting in my chair inside a classroom at this very moment. For a middle sized classroom with nearly all the chairs filled and a bit of talking in the room, I would make a scene that will break the silence. It would be about a guy who has a plague in him that is making a change in his personality, and two of his friends keep wondering what his deal is. At last, in the classroom the guy snaps and attacks the person closest to him, which is his friend. Being a student and all, the classroom must do everything to put him down(not kill) from his deadly rampage before he hurts, or kills someone.

3.) Well, to begin with my film contains many different locations, but if it comes to choosing one scene to film, I would go with the closing. The scene would take place in a morgue at night, when everything is quiet and... dead-looking. Anyway, there will only be one character speaking in the scene, and that is the second main character, John, a little boy. In this scene, you can see that he has a very bright personality with no drip of evil at all because he is crying to see that the guy he was supposed to save is dead, and feels complete despair. Even at one day of knowing him, he is heartbroken.

Groundhog Day Reflection Groundhog Day.

The non-linear structure was used in the film Groundhog Day as a way that the same day would repeat throughout the movie. Without it there would be no movie at all! It's what made the movie amazing! The character in the movie knows about the non-linear life(day) he's living through, unlike the other movies they don't because they are either memories or intended only for the audience to now. I love this movie! It might not take place in Christmas, but I'm glad I watched it during mid-November, the time of the year when I start looking forward to Christmas!

Period 4 Pilot#4 Review.

I'm sorry to say this, but I didn't get into the story. By that I mean I didn't like it. Reasons are because the story seems slow and nothing serious seems to happen. Well, I might be wrong on that, something bad does happen, but they don't make it look serious from my point of view. Also, I think the characters sound funny, but I find it weird that they don't take something bad the main character did seriously. They all seems to be jerks. So, this show will not only make me feel bored or upset for the lack of story, but for the mean characters with no maturity as well. Again, I'm sorry for my review of bad taste, but I find it better to be honest than lie to make something look great when it isn't. If they could revise it with more thought and patience, it would have a huge impression. I'm sorry!

Period 6 Pilot #2 Review.

So far, out of all the pilot episodes I've read, I like this one the best(Besides my own). Reason is because this pilot episode begins the TV show with a huge mystery left as a good cliffhanger at the end of the episode. I really like the story going on in the pilot, it really got my interest at the very first scene and kept my eyes reading throughout the whole thing without a problem. Plus, the characters do seem to have uniqueness based on their way of themselves. An average amount of characters are shown, and each of them really differ from each other! I'm impressed! However, they got to make sure to fix some of the format, it contains a few slight errors and the spelling ir grammar as well. Overall, it's good stuff.

Period 6 Pilot #1 Review.

So basically, this pilot episode seems to be full of the same problems throughout. There are so many characters, some well-introduced, with a bit of uniqueness. I don't really know who the main character is since they all pretty much show up the same amount of time in the episode. Why is everybody cheating on everybody? It's pretty crazy for a pilot episode. By the way, the format needs work to be improved, some parts of the script look different than others. Plus, they need more details in the passage, I can hardly picture what I would see so I make my own imaginative adjustments. An interesting point where it really needs some improvement are the flashbacks, they really lack detail. That is, unless, the scene is very short. Overall, needs fixing on the format and must calm down the intensity for the story. Let the heat turn up later in the first season.

Concept 25 Question #3

If I were going to use any event in my life as the plot of a film, my log line would be:
When a high school student struggles to keep his friends, he makes a life-changing decision that will completely turn him over a new leaf.

Pilot Critique #1.

Format: 2

Unique/Interesting Characters: 2

Entertaining Story/Conflict: 1

Suggestions I have for the improvement for this pilot episode is that they should let the story take its time to show the viewers with good details and ideas on who and what is going on in the story. The story seems to be rushed, so I recommend they slow it down in order to make it look like a more serious problem and not cheesy. The conflict, they can come up with something that can make some sense and not exaggerate.

Top Ten Horror Movies.

10.) Dawn of the Dead.

9.) The Mist.

8.) The Thing.

7.) 1408

6.) The Devil's Backbone.

5.) Evil Dead.
4.) The Ring.

3.) Halloween

2.) Ju-On

1.) The Sixth Sense.

In my opinion, what I think makes a great horror movie is a great storyline and plot, those are two very important keys to make the movie interesting. Of course, the movie should contain scary scenes with blood and paranormal things and all that, but its also about what's behind them, the origin of it. There should be suspense, darkness, and scary or disturbing images. It's hard to explain, but to think of it... oh dang. Horror movies shouldn't always have to be scary, there should be some valuable theme into it as well. That's why I have the Sixth Sense as my number one. It's not the scariest, but it really touched me.

Concept 24 Question #3

I'm pretty sure I've seen surprised by the outcome of something I thought I wouldn't more than once! One example I thought of was when I saw one of those annoying videos in youtube that pop out the exorcist girl's scary face with a loud scream! The first time I saw that it made me jump! I didn't see it coming! I expected something not exciting at all, but turned out the opposite! How I can use this to develop a "High Concept" script is by giving the reader something to think about, but then we launch them a final surprise! A final impression!

Lost Pilot Script.

How the writer reveals the character by dialogue and action for:

-Jack: He is a leader. He makes sure everyone is okay by helping them with wounds or to not do things that could risk their lives. He is a doctor with great knowledge of survival.

-Kate: She is a woman who is down to help others. She follows Jack's directions and keeps up with him.

-Hurley: He seems to have doubt on doing things. Doesn't sound really bright, but nice guy.

-Boone: He is a man who is trying to survive. He doesn't seem completely sure of what he does.

-Shannon: She is a woman who has a mean attitude and only awaits to be helped.

Jack and Hurley have a very different way of talking. Jack uses more educated and mature vocabulary than Hurley, who always says "Dude...". The relationship between Shannon and Boone doesn't seem to go well right now, she is lacking respect for him.

Concept 23 Question #3

The kind of story I want to write is about redemption on a young adult who by time is quitting life. The main character's objective... well he has no objective, he doesn't care anymore! He's just waiting to die, I guess that's the only possible objective. The degree that the quest will be successful will not be entirely up to him, but his guardian angel. Through time the angel will make the main character realize that life is the greatest gift of all.

Desperate Housewives Pilot.

1.) Who are the three main characters? How are they introduced in a unique way? The housewives, and here are three examples: Lynette, Gabrielle, and Bree. Lynette has her unique introduction by being the mother with the three fighting kids.

2.) What is the conflict? Mary Alice, for unknown reason, shot herself. The audience wants to know why.

3.) What is the writing like? Does each character talk differently? How does the writing use dialogue to advance the story? Yes, some characters sound different than others. The writing uses transitions between times to advance the story.

Concept 22 Question #3

The film that I want to write is plot-driven because Tim, the main character, has an external conflict about not wanting to live life anymore because he feels he has lost his purpose after losing his girlfriend. Sarah, the girl who Tim loved, was killed, and Tim felt like he died as well along with her. With losing the will to do something else for his life, he lost the battle. Even if he lost his own purpose, it isn't over and never will be because there is always a back-up plan; God's plan for you.

Pilot Reflection

What makes my character unique is... okay to be honest my character isn't really unique and I'm sorry there is hardly a person who can be referred as unique. Without having something that is one of a kind, it will pretty much be someone who can be predictable. Although, hopefully sooner or later as I write the scenes I can find out something unique about him. The problem of my character is that after he loses his girlfriend by someone's cold hands, he doesn't want to continue his life as he used to, full of commitment and with purpose. Without his girl, life no longer means anything to him, but then a miracle from above appears into his life. The disguised angel's mission is to bring back our main character back to his lively ways in order to save him from killing himself. If you don't go on and grow up, then you're dying. The main character will keep on questioning to the angel about why foul things in life non stop, but as time goes the angel will help him realize it's not what God does, it's what people do themselves. "People live misery because they don't go to Him"- The angel.

My So Called Life.

I don't really know if there is any idea from the show that I can use for my own show. My So Called Life, as far as I know, is pretty much about the life of a red headed girl in high school. According to my partner Angel, the exaggeration and sarcasm is something we can use from the show. What doesn't appeal from it to our show is that its mainly based on one person and ours will have more than one perspective and it will also be non linear. All I can say is that I'm excited for the high school TV show!

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Concept 20 Question

In the film I plan to write, an aspect that it will have that would relate to the audience is to blend in to the school. There are many groups to choose from, but it isn't easy to conform to a group's style when you never lived it their way. That is why you must be yourself and that is how you find real friends that can have the same interests as yours and can always trust them from the start. Trying to be someone else could get you friends too, but things go downhill later when they really find out who you really are.

Gunderson's High School TV Show.

A cliche that I wouldn't want to see in Gunderson's television show is the jocks. I'm tired of seeing them in high school TV shows because they piss me off(the audience). My premise would be the vengeance and hatred towards everybody in school from the ones who are weak, or unpopular. The protagonist has a friend who is completely opposite from him that he has been friends with throughout elementary and middle school until just recently in High school Senior year. The protagonist is in danger of not graduating and he is constantly putting people in his school in danger. There are two main characters in our show. One is the kind-hearted and positive guy, and the other is the once good student who turned into a heartless loner.

Concept 19 Question #2

Joe wants to take Bonnie as his date to the upcoming dance. If I had to choose a character from this story it would be Joe, and the setting would be on a highway during the night. This would actually be a story after the dance when Joe didn't have any date and is thinking about committing suicide since he didn't get the girl of his dreams. As he prepares himself to jump down, he encounters a miracle that is rarest of all. He is saved by Him.

Concept 18 Question #1.

The picture above me tells me many things such as friendship, a man's best friend, and other few things. First thing that came to my mind seeing the picture though was the friendship between a man and his dog. With what the picture depicts, I would write a story about the life of a long and powerful friendship between a man and his dog. At first, the man loses his wife and she leaves him a puppy behind. He thought of it as a symbol for his wife to keep her alive in his heart. Then as time passes, he creates a powerful bond with the dog. Not only does he have something to keep the memory of his wife, but also an astounding friend to always stay by his side no matter what for life!

Concept 15 Question 2

Three stories that I could come up with that are based on the theme "United we stand, divided we fall" are:

1.) Rush Hour 3: This movie works for the theme because the movie's plot is about Jackie Chan having a fight with his brother whom turns out to be one of the story's antagonists, and as for Tucker he wants to help, but Jackie Chan pushes him away from his family issues. Separated, they miss each other and feel lonely. When they are together, they are like brothers... but from another mother.

2.) Stephen King's It: This movie applies even better because Pennywise hunts the kids one by one, but can he do it when they join together and become a little mighty army? Together they were able to help each other, stand up to their bullies, and defeat Pennywise.

3.)Battle LA: This movie also shows the theme through different pars of it. If the sarge would go on his won to destroy the alien's power ship, it would seem unlikely for him to do it alone, but with his squad following him, they made it.

Concept 14 Story Beats.

Beats:

1.) First scenes which shows the final moment of Henry Foster Kane as he takes his last breath to say... Rosebud.

2.) The catalyst(Kane) has been taken by Thatcher to live with him in a wealthy life ever since his childhood.

3.) Kane's first major fly in the ointment is making a choice with what to do with his life once he's an adult, and he chose to do journalism.

4.) Kane has been having early success in his newspaper career, and Thatcher was disappointed in him for throwing money away, so he wouldn't receive Kane with open arms if he chose to go back for aid. Kane was know on his own for the future.

5.) The second major fly in the ointment was when Kane got married again with a "singer" and then began in the theatre business making his wife standout throughout the world by her "amazing singing".

6.) Kane loses his second wife Susan and she leaves him. Plus, being unmasked about him lying in the newspapers caused his dignity deeply. He lost the love of everyone.

7.) With nobody with him in ruins, Kane was living miserably for his final days thinking about the only time he was actually happy, when he was a boy living with his parents. With nothing left, he died alone with his memory of Rosebud.

Charles Foster Kane

So far from what I've seen on CFK, I saw a montage of the most important times of Kane's life. He was one of those important people who was known to the whole world, as much a Teddy Roosevelt or Adolf Hitler, heck he was with them on the footage. He has been part of historic times in U.S. history such as the Great Depression. Unfortunately, he died. His last word he spoke was... Rosebud.

Concept 13 Brainstormers Question 1

There was this time in my life when I was 9 years old when I had the opportunity to join a kids soccer team in a kids league. Back at the day when I had to make a choice with joining the soccer team involved, I chose to get Dragon Ball Z cards instead. I wasn't much of a sports fan when I was little, and I was obsessed with DBZ, which is why I made a choice I regret today. If I had the opportunity to go back and change history, I would. If it comes to making a choice that would put little effect on my future, I'd do it it. As for life-changing decisions, I would consider it first before making my decision. I don't think that path I'd choose to take would intersect with my current reality because I'm sure playing for the team won't raise my love for the game a lot. Just like football, I was in the team, but I still like football the same way.

Freaks & Geeks Reflection.

Out of the four episodes I've seen so far for Freaks & Geeks, my favorite was "Kim Kelly is my Friend" because I thought it had the most serious plot and the happiest ending. It was really funny too because of Nick, and I really liked how Kim has been turning one of the good characters throughout the episode because I really disliked her for being a huge b*tch. Seeing her protect Sam was just amazing! Something I never saw coming!

Dialogue Practice from Freaks & Geeks.

After reading the screenplay for a scene from Freaks and Geeks, I noticed that the way the writer makes each character sound unique is by their use of words. Some people have different styles of speaking with vocabulary and tone. For example, Neal's dialogue consists words of higher vocabulary level, which shows that he is intelligent and perhaps mature. As for Karen, her use of words like ass, midget, or peewie shows that she is a disrespectful, mean, or rude character.

Scene form Freaks & Geeks script.

INT. Sam’s room - night

As Sam lays on his bed staring at the ceiling, he hears a knock on the door.

SAM

Who is it?

LINDSAY

It’s me. Can we talk?

PAUSE

Without a reply from Sam, Lindsay opens the door to walk in and then closes it. Sam sits up.

SAM

(Mad) What do you want?

LINDSAY I just want to let you know that I couldn’t stand seeing you get hurt, so that’s why I had to butt in.

SAM I don’t want your help, I could’ve handled him myself.

PAUSE

LINDSAY ...You’re my little brother Sam, so I’m supposed to look after you, right?

SAM We’re in high school now! Just stay out of my business alright?

Lindsay attempts to say something, but the words don’t come out. She takes a few seconds to regain her composure.

LINDSAY Okay then... good night.

Lindsay steps out of the room and closes the door as she leaves. Sam lays down on his bed and turns off the lights. FADE OUT.

Concept 11 Brainstormers.

So today I went to Eastridge Mall, hoping to witness a scene that would could be emotional, aesthetic, or intellectual. I chose to be in a mall because a lot of people go there shopping, especially during weekends. I was able to witness a barely emotional scene. While I sat and ate frozen yogurt, I saw three teenagers give flowers and balloons to a guy for his birthday. No offense, but I had the feeling he was gay since he was also wearing a pink shirt and seemed very cheerful about it. I would call it an emotional moment because he had friends who showed him the love of their friendship by giving him birthday gifts. By watching that scene, I would develop it into a short film by using flashback scenes of friendship moments between the teenagers and the birthday boy. That way it will show how the three teens are proud to have they b-boy as their friend. The message I'd like to convey through this is that the earth contains angels, and they are your true friends.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Freaks & Geeks questions.

1.) Lindsay is a pretty girl who struggles to find what's best for her in school and by that I mean who to be with. She tries to fit in with the freaks but they can be a bad influence at times and she doesn't feel very comfortable with them.

2.) The major plots of the halloween episode were that Lindsay had to give up giving candy to the kids and be with her friends. As for Sam, he chose to go trick or treating with his friends but since they're too old for that, they are seen negatively out in public.

3.)It ends up with Lindsay making a terrible decision since she egged Sam and she regrets it. In order to make things better, she chose to finally help her mother give out candy.

Concept 10 Brainstormers.

1.)I'd like to my subject to be about christianity because I had experienced change throughout with it and I've seen others go through the same thing as well, heck even better! This religion saved me from the darkness that I used to be in and brought me into a better world were no matter how hard the situation might look, I always got hope! That was what my school club was called last year which was Elpida(greek word that means hope). I think my road of trials to accomplish change is what will help me write a short film about how amazing God is.

2.)When it comes to writing about something I'm totally not familiar with, it would be about flying a plane. When it comes to learning about something new, I will always go with the internet!

3.)Writing about a subject I know nothing about... that would be hummingbirds. I heard the word, but I don't know anything else of the bird(not even its appearance!). First off, I'll get the basic information through interviewing people about it and try to get as much as they know. After that I'll just go to the internet and research for what I don't know. Once I'm done with the research, I'll then plan on how to give the lecture. I would wanna make it interesting and NOT lecture it as if I don't care. I gotta both do the work right and have fun doing it!

Concept 9 Question 1.

My "new" story will have Harry Potter as the leading character. The conflict will be the struggle for taking the Na'vi people safely to their new land. And the setting will be in the Titanic boat. I had to choose from three high-scoring a main character, conflict, and setting. This was my best mix of the elements from the three movies. I chose to have Harry Potter as my main character because it was either him or Jake Sully to be the story's hero. With Harry Potter chosen, that left me with two conflicts. Survive a sinking boat or help the Na'vi race retrieve their home from intruders. I thought something adventurous would better fit Harry Potter more so I went with Avatar's conflict. Finally, the remaining setting is the Titanic boat, which I liked best of all three movies. It's kind of cool seeing Harry Potter protect the Na'vi people from hazards along the way such as big rocks and the military unit sent to drive the Na'vi people away from their destination. I don't think I've ever seen an epic movie that contains both guns and magic at the same time. This idea should appeal to everyone!

Friday, September 9, 2011

Concept 8 Brainstormers.

1.) So, Reese Witherspoon and Orlando Bloom want me to write a 10 minute short for them. Plus, it has to take place before a football game and there is no one else in the cast. So, here's my short: It was after school, and the football players already began to get pumped up for the football game. A linebacker, named Ty, always bullied a little geek named Donald to do his stuff for him, such as homework. This time, Ty forgot his cleats at home(who does that?), so he threats Donald to bike his way to the house to pick up the cleats, or he will get the beating of a life time. With only a few hours to retrieve the cleats and strangers getting in the way, Donald must hurry because if he doesn't make it in time, he's done for.

3.) Yeah, I'm sure I can write a one-person short because I like it when it comes to writing stories. First off, my character will be a nanny, the setting will be a prison cell, and the prop will be a notebook. The plot of my 5 minute story will be a nanny who was sent to jail for speeding and has to live the next year with her inmates. She is disgusted at how the women there terribly behave, so she plans to have her toughest task yet... show all of them some manners. You might have seen nannies with kids, but with prisoners? As a matter of fact have you? I never had seen anything like it.

Teenage TV Shows

1.) The teenage TV show I hear about the most these days is Glee. I don't watch it myself but as far as I know it is a musical show and seems to be very popular. If I ever find this on TV while I'm looking for something new to watch, I'd give it a try.

2.) I just recently found out about Freaks and Geeks, and it is a TV show about high school students and show how each kind of student behaves in school campus (nerds, bullies, populars, etc.).

3.) Last but not least is Friday Night Lights, which is about a high school football team and how they live their days as part of the team.

Concept 7 Question #2.

In the film I'd like to write, there will be I believe a few hours of "real time" passed from the start to finish. The percentage of elapsed "real time" is I'd say less than 20%, I can't be exact.

Concept 7

Identify a movie in which the story unfolds in the following timeframes:

1.) A single day; Training Day.

2.) A week; The Ring.

3.) Several Months; The Matrix.

4.)Ten or more years; Forrest Gump( My favorite movie by the way).

Techniques that the films above used to convey the passage of time were through title cards and character aging. I also believe dialogue too.

Short Scrip Reflection.

The best scene of my script, in my opinion is when Roddy(main character) tries to get his friend Phango to follow him for a rescue mission. I chose this scene as the best of the script because it seems the most funny part of the script(choosing banana split over someone's life? Lot Of Laugh). The worst part of the script Id say would be when Roddy and Phango run into the boy who saved the girl. This was the worst scene because before that it seemed like Roddy and Phango were beginning their road to an adventure, but then I chose to write a twist which pretty much ended the true adventure, which I wasn't very proud of. I could have improved this if I chose to give our heroes an easier and quicker adventure with an easy solution to the plot, but I got lazy and chose to end it quick with a huge plot.

Concept 6 Brainstormers.

1.) Geri's Game: -Age is 60s.
-Gender is male.
-Number of characters is 1.
-Number of locations is 1.
-The problem is that Geri is losing to himself in a chess game and the solution is that he swap sides and took an easy victory over himself.
-3 minutes
-What I liked was the game between the two same people... it was intense. What I disliked was that the old man cheated to win.

Lifted: -Ages are 20s, genders are males, number of characters are 3, number of locations are 2, the problem was that the rookie alien couldn't figure out how to capture a human with the ship's complicated controls and the solution was... well I don't think there was one.

2.)There could be more added to it, but I doubt it will be an amount of 2 hours.

3.)My favorite movie is Forrest Gump, and I do believe there is a scene from the movie that could stand on its own, like when Forrest attempts to run away from bullies on bikes, but he is being slowed down by his legs which have metal attached to them. Then, Forrest shakes them off and finally got the ability to run like Forrest Gump!

California Dreamin'

Well, my mom and dad came to California before my older brother was born. They haven't always been here since they spent up to their young adult years in Mexico. There were also times during my life when we would move back to Mexico and then come back to the United States. I was born here in San Jose, California, and I never knew if anybody before my parents in the family tree ever came to this state. As I can see with the Trasks, they came to California believing that it was the place to accomplish their dreams. I think my parents move here for the same reason but it was dedicated to their children, such as me. Many diverse people come to California because they believe it is the state to where a person MUST pursue their dreams.

MLA Tips.

1.) An example of "common knowledge" would be "there are four seasons in a year".

2.) You cite something without an author by citing the book title.

3.) For an online source without a page number, no worries! The citation will still include the most important info!

Timshel

"Thou Mayest" connects to the topic of Cain and Abel that runs in East of Eden because Cain had the chance to make a choice before doing his evil action of killing his own brother Abel. This idea of Timshel affects Adam and the other characters by giving them a seed of evil inside them.

Free-Thinkers are a Government's Worst Enemy.

The first book to come to my mind that involves the right to think freely was The Night Thoreau spent in Jail. I believe this book is a right example because it talks about both transcendentalism and civil disobedience which makes Thoreau a free thinker you know how he was against what the society was turning into and believed the world shouldn't change into something that wasn't like the beginning of time. The book I'm reading now called "Inherit the Wind" also involves free-thinkers about a character who wants to believe that people should believe everything about the Bible is literally true.

William Carlos Williams- The Imagists.

This is Just to Say
I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold

The Red Wheelbarrow
so much depends upon a red wheel barrow glazed with rain water beside the white chickens.
The Greatest Figure
Among the rain
and lights
I saw the figure 5
in gold
on a red
firetruck
moving
tense
unheeded
to gong clangs
siren howls
and wheels rumbling
through the dark city.

One thing i see something in common for all these poems is that they all include water and describes things by it. Yes, i do believe they are poems because it uses imagery.

Reflection on Teaching Experience.

When my turn to be teaching was a few days away, I guess I was feeling nervous myself because my group had hardly any communication on how and what would be our roles until the day itself. One of my biggest objectives was to be the kind of teacher who would get most of the attention of the students, so that was why I had a toothpick on my mouth to look like the cool teacher. Also I was trying to be a bit humorous on my presentation so it could keep the students awake and not bored because... everybody likes teachers with a sense of humor. So overall it went well according to my plans and one of the students liked my presentation the best (so far until the rest went by I guess.) I'm gonna say one thing though, and it's that my presentation was, in my opinion, been beaten by many others, but it wasn't bad either. The last groups were the best in my opinion and it was due to having fun activities and using good examples of their subject like Dr.Seuss's The Cat in the Hat.

Huck and Jim's relationship.

Some of the most important events about the relationship between Huck and Jim is when they found each other escaping from their problems because that was when they united and swore to help each other escape and find a new home. At first Huck was in doubt for helping Jim escape because it was against the law for slaves to run away, and if they got aid on it those who helped would face serious consequences. As I read more into the story, Huck seemed to realize how miserable the life of a slave is when he sees Jim get into trouble and sees him being mistreated and forced to work. What made Huck continue on his adventure on helping Jim escape is that he was the only friend Jim ever had. :)

The Lowest Animal.

I remember back in my childhood days where I always played outside in the parks where there were trees and games to play, but today even kids at that age don't all do the same. Some kids today just stay home and play with their gameboys(or even psps?). What I'm trying to say is that as time moves on, our technology will improve, and the more it advances the more changes it brings to our way of life. I know we have to look into our futures to move on, but soon it will become something we never wished for. I don't want to lose the life I am living right now today. I know technology is great, but so is our world. Our trees, our animals, our wonders of nature have been given to us by God, and we should always keep it with us to show God that we appreciate him for giving us all life. Taking it all away would just turn us into something else, something God did not meant for us. Let's keep nature with us forever to the end of time, shall we?

New Version of Huck Finn.

I think there shouldn't be a change into the story of Huck Finn because that would make the story less likely clever since back those years there was a lack of respect against the blacks. I know the N word is racist, but it helps make the story get more into its setting. Today, black people are not always called Ns...but back them they were.

Great Student Writing.

I can hardly remember any other writing assignment besides my latest which was called Run with a Price. This was my favorite writing assignment, but overall my favorite assignment so far is Transcendentalism. As my teacher went through correcting stuff in my story, there was rarely any mistakes(just mispelling). My writing is not perfect, but it is well skilled if you ask me. I could try improving it by looking at professionals' work of writing.
